Northern Kentucky Asset Reports
In the fall
of 2007, students in Boone, Campbell, and Kenton Counties took the Search
Institute’s Attitudes and Behaviors survey. The survey provides a snapshot of
the number of assets experienced by kids in our region. The survey was conducted
by the Asset Builders Alliance, a coalition of local youth serving agencies, and
funded by the United Way of Greater Cincinnati. In the fall of 2008, the Health
Department administered the same survey to students within Grant County.
Overall, 59
percent of kids in Northern Kentucky have fewer than 20 of the assets. These
numbers reflect the national trend that the majority of young people don’t have
the assets they need to do well in life.
