Award of Excellence in Public Health
Every Spring, the Health Department honors an organization, group and/or individual dedicated to the advancement of public health efforts.
Through the Award
of Excellence in Public Health, we seek to encourage and support those who give of themselves in an effort to further public health through collaboration with Health Department initiatives. Consideration is given to the furtherance of the Northern Kentucky Community Health Plan and the Healthy Kentuckians 2020 Objectives.
2012 RECIPIENTS
Christopher Bolling, MD, FAAP:
for his
collaboration with the Health
Department on obesity prevention programs, including the Boone County Success by
6 obesity prevention task force and the 5-2-1-0 campaign statewide;
and for his ongoing work to educate providers, the community and policymakers
about childhood obesity.
The NKU Nurse Advocacy Center for the Underserved:
for its efforts to
provide flu and Hepatitis B vaccination to the homeless,
partnerships with health care providers and social service agencies, and for
providing health screening and education in order to reduce visits to local
emergency departments.
