The Health Department is offering a continuing education course on HIV for health care providers from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the Health Department's District Office, 610 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood.
The course covers basic medical information about HIV disease, progression,
transmission and prevention; management of HIV in the workplace; legal issues;
testing strategies; and local resources for HIV testing and case management.
Registration for this class is open until Thursday, June 6.
Registration begins at 5 p.m. and class starts promptly at 5:30. You must be present for the entire class to receive your CEUs. Persons receiving continuing education credit must attend the entire two hours. Those arriving after the posted class start time of 5:30 p.m. will be denied admittance. Please plan for traffic delays and road construction.
Two continuing education units are available for the following professions: alcohol and drug counselors, athletic trainers, chiropractors, dentists, dental hygienists, emergency medical technicians, nurses, optometrists, paramedics, pharmacists, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, physicians, physician assistants, podiatrists, and social workers.
