This training
class is presented at no cost to attendees. The goal of this program is
to teach attendees
lead-safe work practices and the strategies for implementing them. Many homes
built before 1978 contain lead-based paint, so it is important that renovation,
remodeling and repair activities use methods that reduce and control dust and
debris created during work. Even a small amount of dust can pose a serious
health risk to children and families.
This course
is not valid for HUD requirements for performing renovation, remodeling
and repair in federally assisted and owned properties, nor is it valid for
performing renovation when lead abatement work orders have been issued, or when
a unit or child day-care facility has been identified as the possible source of
a child’s lead poisoning. Classes for HUD interim control education will be
offered based on demand. If you need this type of class, please contact the
Health Department so one can be scheduled.
